MOROCCAN LICENSE CURRICULUM

The essential goal of the training provided to TMAs is to enable each student/trainee to acquire a level of theoretical and practical aptitude corresponding to the regulatory level prefixed for their category.
Starting from this objective, the distribution of subjects, their duration and the depth of the course take into account the performance required to pass the theoretical and practical tests of the official examination for obtaining the license of the corresponding category.

Aircraft Maintenance Technicians are recognized in three categories: A, B and C. These categories are divided into subcategories according to the content of their teaching and examinations.

This category allows its holder to pronounce the approval for return to service (APRS) at the end of work that it has carried out itself, if it is a minor line maintenance inspection, overhaul of aircraft components or the correction of simple defects.

It is divided into four sub-categories:

• A1: Airplanes with turbine engines

• A2: Aircraft with piston engines

• A3: Helicopters with turbine engines

• A4: Helicopters with piston engines

This category is subdivided into three sub-categories, namely:

• Sub-category B1: for the Airframe, Motors and Systems (CMS) specialty, its holder can sign documents relating to all maintenance work or fault correction related to electrical and/or mechanical systems, as well as minor work structural; work that he himself carried out or supervised on the airplane for which he holds the level III type rating.

It is divided into four sub-categories:

B1.1: Airplanes with turbine engines

B1.2: Airplanes with piston engines

B1.3: Helicopters with turbine engines

B1.4: Helicopters with piston engines

• Sub-category B2: for the Electricity, Avionics and Systems (EAS) specialty, its holder can sign documents relating to all maintenance work or fault correction related to electrical and/or avionic systems; work that he himself carried out or supervised, on the airplane for which he holds the level III type rating.

Holders of categories B1 or B2 can issue approval for return to service after completion of a set of line maintenance work; work that they have either carried out by themselves or by agents placed under their supervision on the aircraft for which they hold the level III type rating.

• sub-category B3: for the Structure specialty (STR), its holder can sign the documents relating to all aircraft or workshop work related to the structure; work that he himself carried out or supervised.

These are for subcategories B1 and B2 tasks covering those of category A or falling under airworthiness directives, hidden functions, adjustments, modifications, major repairs, engine exchanges and APUs , borescoping and, in general, work requiring functional and/or operational tests on the ground and/or in flight.

Category C allows its holder:

• ensure quality control and inspections, as required for the performance of work relating to the application of airworthiness directives;

• to ensure the management of base maintenance works and to pronounce the approval for return to service after all maintenance work, in particular that carried out at the base (visits: A, B, C, D and IL);

• ensure the management of aircraft component overhaul workshops and pronounce approval for return to service after all overhaul work.
